Mortgage Loan Originator • East Tawas

Basic Purpose: 
The Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) proactively solicits new residential mortgage business and actively sells Huron Community Banks mortgage products to meet established loan quality and production goals.  
 
Principal Accountabilities: 
Develops and maintains successful relationships with referral sources both existing and prospective 
Develop referral network through marketing, cold-calling, prospecting and networking activities. 
Participate in community events to promote Huron Community Bank and our products 
Prospects new mortgage lending opportunities 
Complete the loan application process as defined: Interview and meet with prospective borrower(s) 
Input complete application in E3 
Review and analyze credit and financial data 
Determine borrower(s) objective and goals for financing 
Present appropriate Huron Community Bank products and programs and explain guidelines 
Discuss pricing and current interest rates with borrower(s)  
Complete Transmittal/Run findings for LP/DU Feedback  
Identify opportunities to cross-sell/offer other Huron Community Bank products 
Collect supporting documentation, if volunteered by borrower(s)  
Provide complete application package to loan processing 
Achieve production goals as established by Huron Community Bank 
Actively seek other bank opportunities and cross-sell other HCB Products 
Maintain current and thorough knowledge of all lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.  
Maintain a working knowledge of automated underwriting systems Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae  
Maintain a working knowledge of Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and Secondary Market Investors policies and procedures to ensure compliance of all loans sold on the secondary market. 
Attend and complete all Huron Community Bank required training 
Maintain a working knowledge of all lending products offered by our Correspondent Lending Channel (Conventional, Rural Development, VA, FHA, etc.) 
Coordinate mortgage closings and schedules with loan processing, borrower(s) and brokers. 
Adhere to Huron Community Banks policies and procedures 
Adhere to Huron Community Bank attendance policy- attendance is an essential function of your job and necessary for effective bank operation. 
Other Duties as assigned 
Create and maintain a courteous and professional relationship with co-workers 
Report to work on time and maintain good attendance is an essential function of your job and necessary for our bank to operate efficiently.  
 
Job Requirements: 
 
Education:  
High School Diploma or equivalent 
4 year college degree preferred 
 
Experience: 
Five to ten years banking experience  
Solid time management skills and ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously 
Ability to analyze and comprehend complex financial data and provide financial alternatives 
Professional and effective interpersonal skills 
Enthusiasm for assignments and the ability to meet established time frames as assigned

Physical Requirements: 
Standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. 
Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction. 
Dexterity required for manipulating objects and standard office equipment. 
Communication skills using the written and spoken word. 
Ability to see and hear within normal parameters. 
Ability to bend, squat, and stoop as needed. 
 
Typical Mental Demands:  
Must be able to analyze complex financial information and perform mathematical calculations. Must be able to work under stress and pressure. 
 
Working Conditions: 
Works in a typical office setting and is primarily stationed at a desk. Position requires time devoted to developing new business and prospects. Must be able to work evenings and /or weekends as well as travel between bank branches and other areas, if necessary.
